Also known as Bell Apple. An old somerset apple so-called because of the snouty shape. The appearance is quite striking; large, long and conical. The skin is green, netted and patched with warm coloured russet – all reminiscent of a sheep’s nose. A pure sweet cider apple. Large tree that droops with heavy crops. Good flavour and once common in Somerset and East Devon. Ripens in late October and stores to December.
